Welcome! I am Sr. Marianne and I'm a Sister of St. Joseph of Annecy, a Registered Nurse, a massage and scar therapist.
I provide
Therapeutic Massage to maximise the health of those who care for others and
ScarWork for anyone struggling with discomfort, restrictions or appearance related to scar healing and recovery.
What is Therapeutic Massage?
Therapeutic Massage uses a range of techniques to maximise your health.
For new clients I will always talk to you before confirming any booking to make sure I'm the right therapist for you. Together we can agree what you might need and plan from there. I offer several styles of massage and therapies which may be included in your appointment:
- Swedish massage
- Advanced massage
- Lymphatic Drainage Techniques
- Myofascial release
- Seated acupressure
- Soft cupping
The cost is the same whichever are used as you are paying for my expert care of you, not for a technique.
For those who have difficulty getting on or off the massage couch, seated massage is available.

What is ScarWork?
ScarWork promotes the healing, integration and movement of both old and new scars formed as a result of injury or surgery. It uses gentle touch techniques across the skin and underlying fascia.
Having scar massage can be beneficial if your scar is causing pain, discomfort, inflammation, numbness or restricting your movement. Sometimes people find it difficult to look at, or touch, their scar and togehter we can work on ways to help with this too.
Before committing to an appointment I will talk to you to find out how you are feeling and what concerns you have about your scar. You can also ask any questions you might have.
ScarWork is non-invasive and takes place without the use of anaesthetic, chemicals, needles or peels.

ScarWork can help if your scar is:
- Red, itchy, lumpy or tight
- “Stuck” or pulling on other tissue
- Thick and raised from your skin
- Painful to touch
- Numb
- Stopping you wearing clothes you like

About Me
My name is Sr. Marianne. I am a Sister of St. Joseph of Annecy and have been a Registered Nurse for 25 years. In 2011 I trained as a massage therapist and later in 2021, did a specialist therapy course in Sharon Wheeler's ScarWork.
For many years I have had a strong interest in how sensitive therapeutic touch can benefit our health and well-being. Working with health & social care staff, as well as meeting many unpaid family carers, I see how great a need we have for this. There is a saying- you cannot pour from an empty cup, yet so many of us are trying to do just that.
One of the greatest compliments I've ever had was when a client said "What you do helps soothe the body and the soul." That is such a beautiful way to express my intention to help you, work with you and support you to maximise your health.
At Morrello Clinic, a specialist neurological rehabilitation centre, I enjoy working with people who live with neurological conditions as well as their families, friends and carers.
At Wellfield Clinic I see a wide variety of clients for both Therapeutic Massage and ScarWork. They are often, but not exclusively, those who are family carers or work in caring roles.
The ScarWork clients I see are people looking for help with the healing and recovery of scar tissue. Many have learned to live with difficulties, discomfort and restrictions over time, not realising ScarWork exists. They are amazed at what it can do for them. You could be too!

Before making an appointment I always like to talk to you myself. This allows us to discuss your issues or concerns and then decide whether I am the right therapist to work with you.
If you have certain health conditions I may ask you to check with your GP or consultant prior to booking.

Therapeutic Massage: 45 mins - £40
May include Swedish & advanced massage, lymphatic drainage techniques, myofascial release & soft cupping
ScarWork: 45 mins - £45
Gentle touch techniques on and around the scar; soft cupping and lymphatic drainage techniques may be included
There will be a charge made for any appointment cancelled or missed without 48 hours notice
